Me with Aunt Coring 1952

Aunt Coring lived in Ketchikan, Alaska. She came to Detroit to visit. From there she took me to NY city where we stayed with a Puerto Rican family during our visit. I remember sleeping right next to the elevated train which woke me up every time it rumbled by. It was interesting how the family pronounced the Yankees. “Jankyees.”

She brought with her a new Leica camera with accessories she won in some kind of lottery. She gave me the camera. Some years later I sold the camera and bought a used motorcycle.
